Gold prices has seen a slight decrease, see little relief from increased rate cut bets

Gold has performed very well in 2024, rising over 13% as of now amidst investor predictions of Federal Reserve rate cuts. Due to recent uncertainty about the timing of these cuts, gold has retreated from its May high of $2,450 and is currently around $2,330

Sentiment in the precious metals markets, especially gold, remains pressured even as traders increase expectations of rate cuts in September, following last week’s PCE price index data.

Despite the beneficial prospects of lower interest rates for the precious metal market, gold prices have not advanced significantly as traders await signals from the Fed and economic indicators this week.

Fed Chair Jerome Powell is set to speak on Tuesday, while the minutes of the Fed’s June meeting are due on Wednesday. Additionally, nonfarm payrolls data for June is due on Friday.

According to Jonathan Rose, a 20-year financial consultant with a Series 3 commodity license and the co-founder/CEO of Genesis Gold Group, the “political and economic climate in the United States today is one of the driving factors for the increasing prices of precious metals like gold & silver.”

Rose, who has developed the Prepper Bar, adds that “as mining production has failed to increase over the past few years, industrial demand has skyrocketed. As a result, the majority of economists predict that we are in for a strong precious metals market over the next few years.”

Gold has attracted investors for centuries, offering a hedge against inflation and economic uncertainty. Therefore, it is expected to continue growing in the long-term.

Whether you are an experienced investor or just starting out, precious metals are almost a mandatory asset class in your investment portfolio. The most important is your investment knowledge and practical experience. Always be proactive in your investment strategies and take full responsibility for the outcomes achieved in your investment journey.
