Happiness is not The Destination, Happiness Lies on The Path to Success

Some people define that they are striving in the present to be happy in the future, but in the end, as time passes, when they've achieved what they call “success”, still they don't feel happy. So when will they have their own happiness?

What is Happiness?

Happiness is a state of mind and spirit that people often feel when there is contentment, joy, and a sense of well-being in life.

Happiness is not solely reflected through external events, it also relies on the inner emotions of each individual.

There’s no accurate definition or standard for happiness because it’s a feeling unique to each person and is defined by each individual.

Desire for Happiness

Some people have lived too long with suffering and sorrow, so when they finally receive moments of joy, they don’t know how to handle it properly. Their typical reaction might be to dismiss it and even speak negatively about it, contrary to what they are thinking.

As a result, they revert back to their state of unhappiness. Begin reshaping your mindset that the world operates based on your thoughts and subconscious. Only when you think you are happy and desire happiness will you be able to welcome more happiness into your life.

Choosing Happiness

Happiness is an emotional state, and you have complete control over it. Some people don’t understand the principle of happiness and think that it must be something grand, achieved through great difficulty.

But happiness can be surprisingly simple when you realize you can choose it.

Just like when someone has lived in misery for a long time, they choose to react in their accustomed manner, which is to reject happiness when it comes to them. At that point, they had an opportunity to attract even more happiness or continue holding onto their unhappiness. And you’ve already seen the outcome of their choice.

This proves that happiness is indeed a choice.

When can you be happy?

When do you allow yourself to be happy? Is it when you make a lot of money? After a late working day? Or when you get married?

Don’t rush to answer “Yes” to these questions. Because if you do, you haven’t fully learned how to enjoy your happiness.

Happiness is not a destination. It happens and is present in the process of moving towards your goals. Feeling happy from the things mentioned above is just fleeting short-term happiness. Seek lasting happiness, as it forms the foundation for your life, making you peaceful, content, and radiant.

When achieving short-term happiness is your “marriage”, don’t you feel happy when you meet your loved one, or remember the moments you’ve created together?

Every little detail, such as caring after a long day or a morning greeting, contributes to your happiness and your loved one’s.

So don’t mistake happiness for an ultimate destination. You see it emerging around you, but you must allow it to come.

Turn Happiness into a Breath

Happiness is not solely reflected through external events, it also relies on the inner emotions of each individual

Everything present in your life has a reason and has been allowed by you to come into. Subconsciously, you must agree that you desire happiness for happiness to appear.

Happiness isn’t external, it’s already deeply embedded in each moment we live. When we learn to appreciate each second, each emotion, we start turning happiness into a part of our soul, permeating every thought and action.

We often focus on goals and achievements in life, forgetting that happiness isn’t distant. It exists in the peaceful feeling while engrossed in a book, in the laughter from joyful jokes, in relishing a delicious meal with loved ones.

However, sometimes we lose happiness when overly concerned about the future or dwelling on past mistakes. At such times, remember that happiness is always here, in every breath we inhale and exhale.

To make happiness a natural part of life, we need to learn how to live in the present, enjoy each moment, and create memorable experiences. Let happiness spread through every breath, infusing our souls and becoming an inseparable part of us, regardless of life’s changes.

Although life is short and unpredictable, happiness can always be found everywhere, in every moment. Make happiness a constant in your life, so you’re always awake to the subtle beauty of life and the ability to embrace each moment with an open heart.
